Curriculum Program
Shawnee Mission School District schools provide a positive, collaborative environment for support of students increased academic rigor. Students receive a strong foundation in reading, language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. The districtwide curriculum is aligned with state and national standards and sequentially develops students’ abilities in critical thinking and problem solving. All schools have 1:1 technology to use as a research and learning tool. Students engage in rigorous and relevant learning experiences that prepare them to be college and career ready.
Shawnee Mission schools provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for students to push their academics and to explore and expand their talents in specialized areas of instruction including art, music, STEM, library information technologies, and physical health education.
